Altrad Motherwell Bridge were approached to manufacture a replacement shell and tube heat exchanger for a large industrial complex.
The existing exchanger was designed and manufactured back in 1978 and was in a state of disrepair and was reaching the end of its design life.

The client required a replacement heat exchanger with a long design life, to be designed and installed in accelerated manner to avoid any process downtime. Moreover, the solution was required to be delivered within the constraints of an extremely CAPEX budget.
The Altrad turnkey, design and build solution incorporated the addition of lifting lugs on top of the shell and channel which greatly aided the installation of the heat exchanger.
In order to reduce site manhours and increase productivity the heat exchanger was manufactured offsite at Altrad Motherwell Bridge’s fabrication facilities. The heat exchanger was then transported to site once manufactured and finally installed. The project solution was delivered utilising Altrad Motherwell Bridge design, manufacture and site installation teams.
