Altrad support CTP South West Resettlement Fair

Our people enthusiastically kicked off our activity in support of attracting more ex-military talent into the business in early June, attending the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) South West Resettlement Fair in Bristol, England. Mike Butterwick, Head of Talent Acquisition, Carly Atkinson, Talent Development Manager, and Stephen West, HR Lead at Hinkley Point C, attended the event, networking with a range of individuals and showcasing Altrad and our vacancies on offer.

CTP are the MOD’s contractor who deliver resettlement services for service leavers, offering veterans support for up to two years after they have left the services and providing a range of assistance, including workshops, career coaching, a jobs board, and insight days. The CTP run resettlements in each region of the UK throughout the year and attract a high number of service leavers, offering the opportunity for us to meet a large number of highly trained, well-motivated individuals with a range of skills and qualities.

Mike Butterwick commented on experience, saying: “It was great to be at the CTP event in Bristol yesterday. Getting our name known amongst the ex-military community is the first step towards opening up pathways for this source of talent. There was so much talent in the room as well, and I really think Altrad has a great offer for them. The range of opportunities we have, our geographical spread, and our ambition will all appeal to this community. We had plenty of interest, particularly with regard to opportunities at Hinkley Point C, and I hope this will lead to some great ex-military people joining our team soon. We will be doing a lot more engagement in the coming months, and I am really excited about what we may be able to achieve. More to follow!”

The ex-military talent pool encompasses a range of individuals with valuable transferrable skills. Altrad are keen to attract service leavers, recognising the diverse range of skills they bring, and events like this are great for us to reach this talent pool. We are looking forward to similar engagement events in the future as we work to attract more ex-military talent.
