Altrad recruited 108 apprentices in 2022 – in the UK alone!

In 2022, Altrad recruited 54 new apprentices, and coincidentally so did Altrad Babcock! In the collective, a total of 108 apprentices were welcomed into our business last year – in the UK alone!

Hereunder, we highlight some of the impressive achievements of our apprentices:-

• Altrad Babcock’s Euan MacLean, Project Engineer, was nominated for ‘Apprentice Ambassador of the Year’ in the 2023 Skills Development Scotland Scottish Apprenticeship Awards.
• Altrad’s Alex Turton, Marketing Officer, completed his apprenticeship, attaining a distinction grade, and receiving the ‘Young Achiever’ award at Altrad’s 2022 Inspire Awards for his work in the marketing and communications team.

We also captured some insight from our apprentices on their experiences to date:-

• Altrad’s Josh Lyth, Trainee Quantity Surveyor, said “coming in as an apprentice you don’t always realise the impact your work has on the wider business however, getting out onto site and meeting new people gives you the opportunity to see this first hand”.
• Altrad Babcock’s Ashton Telford, Project Controls Apprentice, added “in the future, I’m hoping to go elsewhere in the world, explore Europe with my job, and carry on working in cost control engineering”.
