We are delighted to showcase a group of our colleagues who conquered the National Three Peaks challenge on Friday 17th May, scaling Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon in the UK in under 24 hours!

The National Three Peaks challenge consists of climbing the three tallest mountains within each representative country: Scafell Pike is the tallest in England; Snowdon is the tallest in Wales, and Ben Nevis is the tallest in Scotland.

The team, consisting of Adrian Swan, Andrew Crutchley, Ben Leon, Chris Leng, Josh Bailey-Withers, Mark Hatfield, Michael Scott, Mike Pizey, Nick Sinclair, and Sue Dick, completed the challenge in an overall time of 23hrs 45mins. In total, the team covered 75,000+ steps over a total distance of 23 miles. Their support team, Daniel Stewart, Tony Jester and Andy Colquhoun, helped them on their journey, driving them between the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales.

As part of the challenge, the team chose to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. Cancer Research UK is the world’s largest independent cancer research organisation that, for the past 120 years, have been making discoveries that save lives. Supporting this amazing organisation powers life-saving research to beat cancer.

The group were guided by Altrad’s values of Courage, Solidarity, Conviviality and Humility. Until the event, the team were largely unknown to one another but were able to pull together to achieve a very challenging goal, whilst raising vital funds for a charity that helps so many people and holds a place close to the hearts of our people.

Congratulations to our team! This is a fantastic effort, and all the weeks of training have surely paid off.

The team would like to thank everyone for their donations and kind words. If you would like to support their efforts for Cancer Research UK, visit their fundraising page here.
