Apprentice Liam Hoggart Recognised with Prestigious Industry Award

We are delighted to celebrate Liam, who has been named the recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to the Workplace Award at the Lavender Apprenticeship Awards 2026, hosted by Lavender International NDT.

The award recognises apprentices who have made an exceptional impact within their workplace, and Liam's journey reflects the dedication, professionalism and ambition that apprenticeship programmes are designed to nurture.

Before joining Altrad as an NDT Apprentice in 2024, Liam completed an NVQ Level 3 in Welding and Fabrication at Middlesbrough College, earning strong praise from his college mentor for both his technical ability and professional attitude.

Moving from full-time education into a demanding industrial environment can be a significant challenge. However, Liam embraced the opportunity from day one. Based at ConocoPhillips’ Teesside site, he quickly demonstrated a maturity beyond his years, together with a positive attitude and a genuine eagerness to learn.

He rapidly established himself as an emerging talent within the inspection team, earning the respect of both peers and experienced professionals alike. Now in the latter stages of his third year and nearing the completion of his apprenticeship programme, Liam has continued to exceed expectations.

His positive energy, strong work ethic and willingness to take on new challenges have helped him make a lasting impact within the workplace. These qualities were central to his award nomination, with judges recognising not only his technical development but also the significant contribution he has already made to the wider team and working environment.
