Flare tip platform success on Dalia FPSO, Angola

Altrad collaborated with TotalEnergies and Production Angola (TEPA) to successfully revamp the flare tip platform on the Dalia FPSO in Angola. The project, executed during the full field shutdown in February 2023, encompassed exchanging the low-pressure and high-pressure flare tips, removing secondary structures, old deck plates, and installing new heat shields.

The Dalia FPSO, located off Angola’s northwest coast, has been a highly productive field for TEPA since 2006. The engineering phase, conducted throughout 2022, followed a tight schedule with regular meetings between TEPA, Altrad Angola and Altrad Norway. A site survey was conducted in September 2022 to ensure precise offshore execution.

The engineering phase concluded successfully with a Factory Acceptance Test at Altrad Linjebygg’s premises in Molde. All equipment was then air-freighted to Luanda Angola, with customs and offshore transport efficiently handled by Altrad Angola.

Altrad Norway received high praise from TEPA for their solution-oriented mindset, efficiency, and quality of work.

The success of the Dalia FPSO full field shutdown project highlights effective planning, collaboration within the Altrad Group. The project was executed ahead of schedule, whilst prioritising safety – with no injuries reported.
