Commemorating years of incredible service

We are proud to celebrate two exceptional individuals whose careers have spanned decades of dedication, growth, and leadership at Altrad. Their contributions have shaped teams, projects, and culture across the business.

John Lee, Thermal Site Manager for our London sites in England, has reached an extraordinary milestone – 50 years of service. Starting at just 16 years old in our office near London Bridge, John’s journey has taken him across the UK and beyond, with projects in Brazil and America. Over the years, he’s held a wide range of roles including Draughtsman, Supervisor, QA, Weld Inspector, Section Engineer, Resident Engineer, Site Manager, and Operations Manager – a testament to his versatility and expertise.

As he prepares to retire this month, John reflected on his time with Altrad: “I’ve worked with so many kind and professional people, visiting sites from Torness to Dungeness. Now it’s time to start a few projects of my own – probably at a slower pace for a change. Thank you to everyone I’ve worked with for making it a pleasure to come to work.”

John’s legacy is one of professionalism, adaptability, and a deep commitment to the people and projects he’s supported. We thank him for his outstanding contribution and wish him all the very best in his well-earned retirement.

Mark Cockin, Site Manager at Drax Power Station, is also celebrating a major milestone – 40 years of service. Mark began his career as an insulator and steadily rose through the ranks to become a respected leader. Known for his hands-on approach and dedication to mentoring others, Mark plays a key role in developing the next generation of talent within the business.

Jimmy Leonard, Head of Contract Delivery at Drax, said: “Mark’s 40 years of service are a shining example of commitment, leadership, and legacy. His journey reflects not just personal achievement, but a lasting contribution to the people and the culture that define Altrad.”
