The Trinidad Offshore Pipeline Replacement (TOPR-N) project involved a comprehensive Cathodic Protection (CP) survey of a subsea structure and production pipeline route. The as-laid CP survey verified that the pipeline achieved full cathodic protection from installation, confirming correct system performance and establishing a robust baseline for long-term monitoring and integrity assurance.
Contracted by Subsea 7, Altrad deployed proven CP technology via remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) across two distinct survey campaigns.

The CP survey was delivered over two successful campaigns using Altrad’s trusted and proven multielectrode CP probe mounted on the ROV’s multi-function arm. The remote reference electrode installed at the rear of the ROV within a di-electric shield ensured accurate potential measurements throughout the inspection.
This configuration enabled comprehensive data collection across the subsea infrastructure, providing robust insights into the cathodic protection system’s performance in safeguarding the offshore structure against corrosion.
Altrad’s experts completed subsea calibrations within minutes and ensured rapid turnaround of processed data, with results delivered to the client within 24 hours. The phased approach, supported by multiple vessels and ROV teams, highlighted Altrad’s flexibility and capability to deliver reliable integrity data efficiently under dynamic offshore conditions.
