Altrad supports SGS Berkley Green UTC

On Wednesday 7th February, Jessica Vincent, Site Administrator/Commercial Assistant, and Sam Russell, Senior Quantity Surveyor, both based at Berkeley Nuclear Power Station, England, had the opportunity to support their local SGS University Technical College (UTC) to undertake a series of mock interviews with their Year 10 and Year 13 students.

The event was very well organised by the college, whose mission is to enable young people to become successful STEM specialists with employability at the heart of their culture. The students ranged from 14 to 18 years old and for many of them, it was their first exposure to the interview environment. It was an excellent opportunity to support the college and help the students gain vital experience and skills in interviewing while meeting potential employers.

Jessica said: “As the college is a specialist in engineering, it was great for us to represent Altrad and we used the opportunity to talk to the students about what the company can offer young people as they start their engineering careers. I’m sure we interviewed a few future captains of industry!”

The feedback we received from the college was excellent, and Altrad are preparing to arrange another visit.
