Altrad support the delivery of a new cancer care unit in Manchester

Altrad use their ingenuity to enhance the communities within which they work – the fast-track, new build extension to the surgical wards and operating theatres at Christies hospital in Manchester provides one such example.

The Christies hospital scheme was delivered during an accelerated, ‘around-the-clock’ programme as it was required urgently to safeguard cancer patients from exposure to coronavirus.

Altrad supported the project by providing access services which were designed and installed rapidly to meet the demands of the construction works without impacting the day to day operation of the hospital.

The success of this project was such that a further four projects have now been awarded to Altrad:

• Blackpool Victoria Hospital – An emergency extension to the existing ER unit
• Lancaster Royal Hospital – A new surgeon’s admissions lounge
• Lancaster Royal Hospital – A new energy centre
• Blackburn Royal Hospital – A new emergency department extension
