Altrad support National Apprenticeship Week 2025

Altrad were proud to support Wombourne High School and Thomas Telford UTC in England as part of National Apprenticeship Week.

Matthew Smallwood, Training Manager, was joined by Ben Cartwright, first-year Pipefitting Apprentice, and Connor Townsend, first-year Pipe Welding Apprentice, at Wombourne High School’s Apprenticeship Ambassador Networks event on Wednesday 12th February 2025.

Year 9 students spent an exciting day filled with interactive sessions and opportunities to meet apprentices and employers. The team showcased Altrad and gave the students a taste of the industry with a virtual welding and a pipefitting exercise.

On the same day, Jon Davies, Senior Administrator, and Tomos Parry, first-year Pipe Welding Apprentice, supported Thomas Telford UTC, participating in their Year 10 ‘Guess My Job’ activity. Employers were only allowed to answer ‘yes’ or ‘no’ to the students’ questions before the students had to guess their occupation. This session helped the students develop critical thinking and communication skills while gaining insights into Altrad and various career paths.

Great work from all involved; this is a fantastic example of how we can inspire, educate and empower the next generation of talent.
