Altrad secure a three year fabric maintenance contract for Shell in the southern north sea, United Kingdom.

Altrad are pleased to announce the signature of a three year contract (with options for two further, one year extensions) for the provision of critical support services for Shell, in support of their Clipper and Leman Alpha offshore gas platforms and the Bacton gas processing plant, near Great Yarmouth in the UK.

The contract, which commences in July 2021, has an approximate value of £24 million for the initial contract period, encompasses the provision of access, rope access, insulation, painting and deck crew services to support the assets’ critical maintenance and project activities.

Altrad’s Director of Upstream Operations – Chris Garland said, “The award of this contract builds upon our successful international, strategic relationship with Shell and we look forward to using the ingenuity of our people to support the safe and efficient operation of these assets.”

Pleasingly, this contract allows Altrad to offer permanent employment to approximately 80 new people which is expected to reach around 120 during peak activity periods. Altrad look forward to welcoming the new people into the business and creating fulfilling career development opportunities for the new team.

The new contract, which displaces both Bilfinger Salamis and Brand Energy Infrastructure Services, was awarded to Altrad on the basis it was best positioned to meet Shell’s exacting standards in terms of safety, quality and environmental performance and its ability to offer enhanced value, providing Shell with an outcome based model.
