Altrad has introduced HVO fuel to power their HGV vehicles and large plant items as part of its ‘green-fleet’ strategy.
The first tanks have been delivered to Deeside, North West England and Middlesbrough, North East England, with further locations planned for later in the year, helping Altrad reduce its overall carbon emissions by 40% by 2026.
These tanks contain an advanced HVO fuel and diesel replacement made from renewable feedstocks and are supercharged with an engine-enhancing additive. This turns highly polluting engines and generators into clean ones – reducing greenhouse gas emissions and other pollutants by up to 80-90%.
With a fleet of over 100 HGV vehicles, transitioning to HVO fuel will significantly reduce Altrad’s carbon footprint across its UK operating centres.
