As an organisation with a strong reputation for innovation with our customers, we are sometimes a little slow to protect our good ideas, large or modest. Everyone knows that patents exist to prevent others from copying our good ideas. Few people are aware that if we do not apply for patents, then our competitors can actually patent the same or similar idea and stop us from exploiting our own innovations!
