We would like to shine a spotlight on Steve Walker, a Rope Access Level 3 Painter, whose quick thinking saved a colleague’s life on the Serica Bruce platform, situated in the North Sea.
When a colleague started choking on his dinner in the canteen on a Saturday evening, Steve quickly identified the distress of his colleague, remained calm, and stepped up, performing the Heimlich manoeuvre to successfully dislodge the bit of food that was causing the choking.
Jeffrey Johnston, Project Manager on Serica Bruce, said; “It’s great to hear of Steve’s quick reactions and prompt assistance, which no doubt saved the life of his workmate! Steve is a great asset to the team and well-liked among the Altrad and wider Serica Bruce teams. His praise is well-deserved!”
