Altrad’s Head of Fleet, Matt Hammond has been awarded the Fleet Management Superstar award by the Great British Fleet Awards.
Matt and his team have incorporated new measures which have seen incident rates among Altrad drivers reduce from 32 per cent to 11 per cent, with driver scores improving from 65% to 97%.
Drivers are accurately profiled with E-learning and in-house courses with a bespoke driver improvement programme developed for all 2,000 Altrad drivers.
Driver management training for line managers was introduced in 2020 which is already leading to reduced end-of-life costs. For 2021, Altrad is introducing virtual reality training for all commercial drivers.
By 2023, Altrad plans to have 60% of its van fleet to run on electric power and a similar programme is being drawn up for company cars.
