Paul Thomas is a scaffold supervisor for Altrad based at Stanlow refinery working for our client Essar.
Whilst working onsite, Paul recognised a colleague feeling unwell. He then suggested that his colleague go to the onsite medical facility for a check up. However, the operative explained he was fine and would be able to continue with his duties.
At this point, it would have been all too easy to simply dismiss the symptoms and return to work as normal. Paul however, remained concerned about his colleague, and insisted that they went to the medical centre to seek medical advise.
Upon arrival at the medical centre the Paul’s colleague took a turn for the worst. Unfortunately he suffered a major heart attack. Paul, assisted by Chris Walsh, were quick to act, performing CPR, eventually restarting their colleagues heart. Medical professionals were called to the scene to provide the necessary care and treatment. They later confirmed that the actions of Paul and Chris saved the life of their colleague.
On behalf of everyone in Altrad, we would like to take this opportunity to recognise Paul for his proactive, caring actions that helped save the life of a colleague, who thankfully is currently recuperating at home.
Paul, we are immensely proud of you and are privileged that you are part of our team.
