We are excited to announce our newest cohort of apprentices who have joined us in Tipton, England.

Last week, Andy Colquhoun, Executive Vice President of Operations and Dave Cornforth, Vice President of Major Projects attended our Tipton training school to extend a warm welcome to the sixty new apprentices who have joined us for roles within project controls, welding, pipefitting, and rigging/erecting.

Dave Cornforth said: “A huge thank you to all involved in hosting the sessions with Altrad’s latest young talent – what a terrific day! It was very enjoyable to have the opportunity to meet with the cohort and learn more about them. They have great enthusiasm, with one individual telling me “I was born to weld!”.

The team here are providing coaching and mentoring but also making them feel like part of the Altrad family. The initiative to involve former apprentices as trainers is a huge positive, as it will help better prepare them careers outside of Tipton when they are transferred to our sites.”

Great work from all involved in welcoming the newest members of the team and we hope all our new apprentices have enjoyed their first months. We look forward to hearing more about their journey and wish them all the best in the apprenticeship programme and their future careers with Altrad!

This group of apprentices will be the final cohort to be greeted by Dave’s friendly welcome, as he is set to retire at the end of this month after dedicating an incredible 48 years to our business. We would like to take this chance to thank Dave for all his hard work over the years to nurture future talent!

Let’s start the conversation

Quite simply, a journey at Altrad begins with a desire to create a better tomorrow.
