The benefits of an innovative and close working relationship were highlighted when Altrad Services – one of ExxonMobil’s on-site contractor teams – won a top award from the Engineering Construction Industry Association (ECIA).
The award for Collaboration was one of five honours presented at the ECIA’s AGM at the Institution of Civil Engineers, London. A team from Altrad Services and ExxonMobil Fawley were invited to collect the award during a special presentation.
The Collaboration Award is given in recognition of a company’s “innovative working with supply or contracting organisations, whether that is optimising the relationship; finding ways to draw on others’ experience; managing the supply chain; or creating a partnership that is more than the sum of its members”. Demonstrating best practice is also recognised.
Paul Herman, General Manager of Altrad Services, said afterwards: “We place a great deal of importance on striving to build and maintain a close working relationship with the team at Fawley. We were delighted and proud to receive this award, it’s a reflection of the hard work and dedication of everyone involved.”
Li Khiam Tan, Fawley Site Mechanical Manager, added: “Our relationship with our contractor companies is vital to the day to day operations at Fawley, and so it is important that we all work together to be successful. Congratulations to Altrad Services for winning this award, it was very much deserved.”
