Altrad has been awarded the ‘Excellence in Audit’ award for achieving a 100% score in an audit conducted by ACAD (Asbestos Control & Abatement Division) on the Wylfa site, a Magnox decommissioned nuclear power plant in North Wales.
ACAD aims to improve overall Health & Safety standards within the industry by promoting best practices, providing superior asbestos training and NVQ competence assessments to the industry and providing accurate information and guidance to members and the wider industry.
At the Wylfa site, Altrad is the Principal Contractor for the asbestos removal works project on the deaerator tanks and associated pipework within the turbine hall.
