Over the past month, Altrad’s office and site teams across the UK have been organising initiatives to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. It also looks at the social, emotional and the practical impact cancer can have and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support’s goal is to improve the lives of everyone who has cancer in the UK.
It is with great pride that we share the different initiatives organised by our people and the incredible amount raised for Macmillan’s vital work!
Several of our site teams took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on or around Friday 29th September. Of the six sites that took part – Renfrew, Selby, Middlesborough, Wilton, Aberdeen and Grangemouth – a total of £1,265.00 was raised! There was a great turnout at each event and several of our people showcased their talents in home baking.
Our Syngenta team, based in Huddersfield, UK took a different approach – with five team members deciding to Brave the Shave on October 4th! Mark Gregory, Spencer Bentley, Jay Moseley, Karl Buck and Matty Kelly were cheered on by a very enthusiastic audience as they raised money for the fantastic cause. Syngenta has contributed £250.00 to the cause – taking the total raised to an amazing £2,365.00!
Incredible work from all involved and thank you to everyone who contributed to the cause! Macmillan is 98% funded by voluntary donations, so our fundraising is an essential part of making sure that they can continue to deliver the critical support people living with cancer need.
