Altrad Babcock’s Ellen Taylor shortlisted for CeeD award nomination

On the 2nd of March 2023, Ellen Taylor, Product Design Engineer, along with some colleagues and mentors from Altrad Babcock and her parents, attended the CeeD (Centre for Engineering Education & Development) Awards at the Hilton Hotel, Glasgow, Scotland. Ellen was shortlisted for the ‘Engaging Talent Award’ for undergraduates who have undertaken an individual or group project with mentorship from an industry partner.

The award was started in memory of a DMEM (Design, Manufacturing, Engineering & Management) graduate who sadly passed away in an accident last year. There was an intense application process, an interview and a presentation of Ellen’s work before being shortlisted and attending the awards ceremony.

Ellen should be immensely proud of being shortlisted for such a prestigious award. Ellen is also the latest Brian McKechnie Scholarship Award winner – an award given to an outstanding student picked by a panel of the Altrad Babcock senior management.

Ellen said: “I have gained considerable experience during the process and it has made me much more confident in my work – it has really shown me what I am capable of – and a great opportunity for me to get my name out there. I am honoured to have even been considered! Congratulations to the winner – it was well deserved!”
